Who We Are!

The Lyrical Jack is a Facebook page dedicated to bringing people creative and fun poetry. Our story begins in June 2015, when we launched as Jack's Cerebral Poetry. This was due to fact our head writer would come up with poems on the fly and immediately write them down and publish them before he forgot. However, as time went on, this process became difficult causing our structure to change drastically. In 2016, we rebranded as Just the Story and later to "The Lyrical Jack", highlighting the work and dedication of our founder.  In April 2018, we began to move our operations from Facebook to Blogger as another way to connect people.

Jack Tecson was born in August 1999, shortly afterward he would be diagnosed with quadriplegic spastic cerebral palsy at 13 months old. This meant he couldn't walk and has to rely on a wheelchair to get around. From that time on, Jack has had a total of six surgeries to help with hip placement, muscle tone and other spasticity related issues. At the age of 6, Jack was placed under the mentorship of Jeffery Thomas and later Alex Damon where he began his early writing. After taking creative writing his freshman year of high school, Jack launched what was known as Just the Story in June 2015. To date, he serves as the chief content creator.

In May 2018, he graduated from Atlantic Coast High School and began his college career at the Florida State College at Jacksonville since the fall. Later on, he transferred to the University of North Florida to pursue a Bachelor of Science. In August 2024, Jack graduated from the Brooks College Health with a degree in health science, concentrating in Interdisciplinary Health Studies along with minors in disability services and social welfare.
